Rotary Flat Can Body Reformer : |
|
This
machine rounds flattened bodies prior to flanging. It is mounted
on a tabular stand which is firmly bolted
to the floor, and
can be arranged for motor drive. On a correctly adjusted
machine, a can body can be reformed in 2 to 3 revolutions.

Reformer Operation : |
|
To
operate, a flat body is opened slightly by applying hand pressure
on the two corners and then forced over
the steel pointed end of the rubber covere mandrel. The reforming
operations is then done by depressing the foot pedal.
This causes the can body to rotate several times between
the main steel roll and the rubber covered mandrel,
there by removing all deformation and producing a truly
cylindrical body.
